Dr. Roger Kocheff
Dr. Roger Kocheff has been practicing veterinary medicine in Maple Ridge for over 35 years. A graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College, he started his professional career in Edmonton before moving to British Columbia. Dr. Kocheff is very active in the community, volunteering his time with many local charities. In his profession, Dr. Kocheff served as President of the Provincial Veterinary Association in 1980 and served as Chair and committee member of the Discipline and Ethics Committee for over 15 years. Proud grandfather of four, his experience and compassion make Dr. Kocheff the 'cornerstone' of our practice.
Dr. Marielle Tremblay
Dr. Marielle Tremblay has been practicing in Maple Ridge since graduating from the University of Montreal in 1995. She joined our team in the fall of 2004. She brings great enthusiasm and extensive experience to our practice. Marielle is a passionate advocate for the care and welfare of all animals, which is reflected in her commitment to rescue organizations, notably Katie’s Place (a local feline shelter with a no euthanasia policy). Marielle is devoted to her dog, six cats and chocolate!
Dr. Paula Bedford
Dr. Paula Bedford received her BSc in Biology from Simon Fraser University and then went on to get her DVM from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Paula joined our staff in the late fall of 2010 and quickly became a favorite of our clients and staff! Paula is a sports enthusiast who played varsity soccer while at SFU and now enjoys playing ice hockey. Paula loves spending time outdoors and shares her home with 2 cats and 2 dogs.
Dr. Laura Kiehlbauch
Originally from Salmon Arm, Dr. Laura Kiehlbauch graduated with honours from UBC in 2003 with a BSc in Agriculture. From there she went to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon & received her DVM in 2008. Laura began at our hospital as a locum and we soon realized her practice style and fun personality fit in perfectly with our team so she became a permanent associate in early 2014. Laura loves being active and enjoys activities such as swimming and snowboarding. She has a vast love of music and frequently attends many of the local concerts around Vancouver. She shares her home with her lovable shepherd cross, Bertuzzi and watermelon-loving cat, Portia.
Suzanne Bowman – Office Manager
Suzanne has worked in the veterinary field for over 20 years as a Veterinary Assistant, Receptionist and Office Manager. As much as she loves working directly with the patients Suzanne realized early on that working in the front end, with the clients, was where she was meant to be. She joined our staff in early 2006 and quickly became an integral part of our veterinary care team. Suzanne’s professional and reassuring manner will make you feel comfortable in any situation.
Christina Stubbs – Veterinary Technician
Christina began working as a Veterinary Assistant in 2004. Upon deciding to further her education she moved to Alberta, and graduated as an Animal Health Technologist from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 2009. After graduation, Christina worked in Edmonton until joining our team in the summer of 2011. Christina’s outgoing personality and warm-hearted manner quickly endeared her to our staff members and clients alike. When you meet her you will understand why she has become such an important part of our practice.
Sara Ahmadi – Veterinary Technician
Sara began her career by attending the Veterinary Assistant program at Douglas College in 2010. After working as a Veterinary Assistant she went back to school and completed the Veterinarian Technician program in 2014. We had originally met Sara during her first year of school when she came to MRVH to perform her school practicum. Sara's incredibly sweet and lovable personality won us over and when the opportunity presented itself we asked her to join our team in September 2014. Sara is an advocate for local rescue organizations and believes in helping control the pet population around the world. Highlights of her volunteering have been travelling to Bulgaria and Turkey to help provide veterinary care and assist in spaying & neutering the local strays. Her own fur-family is composed of her dog Tibo and four cats.
Rena Carlson – Veterinary Assistant
Rena graduated from the Veterinary Assistant Program at the Granville Business College in 2007 and joined our team in February 2009. Rena is very dedicated to the preservation of the environment and all animals living within it. Her warmhearted personality brings a sense of comfort and trust to clients and pets alike. Her love of all animals is evident in the time and attention she gives to each patient in her care.
Nancy Halford – Receptionist
Nancy joined our staff in 2006 after deciding on a career change that reflected her love for animals. She started as a volunteer, and soon after joined our staff. Nancy is interested in dog behavior and training and is also very involved in the dog show world and is a hobby breeder of American Staffordshire Terriers.
Tami Reid – Veterinary Assistant
Tami graduated from the Veterinary Assistant program at Douglas College in 2007 and joined our team shortly after. Tami is an outgoing and vivacious person, who loves helping and caring for all our patients. Outside of work she enjoys raising her two year old daughter, as well as her dog Oscar, both of whom keep her very busy!
