Dr. Upjohn completed the DVM program from Ontario Veterinary College. He has been practicing for over 40 years and is proud to say that he learns new medicine every day

What do you love about working at MRVH?
*The staff! They put up with me without a breath of discontent!

What is one work skill you are very proud of?
*Exotic animal dentistry.

What’s the most inspiring part of your job?
*Imparting new knowledge to my clients. Curiosity killed the cat; well my curiosity saved the cat as I delve into what is wrong and fix it!

When you were 5, what career did you think you’d end up?
*Carpentry

If you could be any animal, what would it be?
*A bald eagle – I’m half way there with the baldness!

What’s one boring thing about you?
*I read vet journals on my holidays – it drives my wife nuts!

Have you had your 15 minutes of fame or met a celebrity?
*I was introduced to Jon Hamm of Madmen by my daughter.

What’s your favourite treat?
*Lemon meringue pie

If there is one charity you want everyone to know about, what is it and why?
*Vancouver Rabbit Rescue Advocacy – they do so much for little reward.

What advice would you give someone who wants to join our team?
*Be prepared for the dry wit of Cristian.
